ABOUT BeeX
BeeX is building the world's most advanced Hovering Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (HAUVs).
BeeX specialises in providing autonomous robotics solutions to safeguard underwater infrastructure in the maritime, energy and defense sectors, reducing over 90% of carbon emissions. We are pioneering Autonomous Robotics-as-a-Service (ARaaS) on a global scale, supported by decades of operational experiences in harsh waters. With unprecedented efficiency, we strive to provide our customers with a one-point solution for asset integrity management -- protecting assets they value, making sure they stay safe.
WHY JOIN US NOW
The industries we serve need new ways to overcome their current challenges, and BeeX is delivering exactly that. Creating anything new is very hard. To do this, we need outstanding people.
At BeeX, everyone is dependent; united by enthusiasm for bold innovation. Our multi-disciplinary team thrives in dynamic environments, driving transformative advancements globally.
Your progress at BeeX depends largely on you, not some arbitrary corporate ladder. You will be exposed to different aspects of Deeptech, from design to commercialisation. Join us to make a meaningful impact on the world!
We are scaling up our manufacturing, and we are looking for the right guy to pioneer and grow our manufacturing line. If you are up to the challenge, we want you to be a part of our team!
Your Role
As Manufacturing Engineer, you will own how our HAUVs are built, from individual subassemblies to fully integrated vehicles ready for sea trials and client deployment. Our vehicles work in harsh, high-pressure subsea environments, so build quality directly affects mission success. A single failed seal, poor crimp, or loose fastener can compromise a vehicle. You will turn engineering designs into repeatable, reliable, scalable production processes as we grow our fleet and move from prototype-level builds to consistent production.
Your Job Scope
HAUV assembly and integration
- Own the end-to-end build process for HAUV systems, including pressure hulls, thruster modules, electronics enclosures, PCB stacks, and vehicle-level integration.
- Develop and maintain work instructions, assembly sequences, and build travellers for each HAUV subsystem.
- Support vehicle integration, bench testing, and pre-deployment checks with the engineering and operations teams.
Subsea-grade electrical and interconnect
- Define and enforce standards for wiring harness fabrication, crimping, soldering, and subsea connector termination.
- Build and qualify harnesses and cable assemblies that stay reliable under pressure, vibration, and saltwater exposure.
- Train and certify technicians on crimping, soldering, and connector assembly practices.
- Sealing, pressure integrity, and mechanical build
- Establish processes for pressure hull assembly, O-ring and seal installation, fastener torque control, and leak and pressure testing.
- Manage fit, tolerance, and quality of machined fittings and 3D-printed components, working with internal fabrication and external vendors.
- Investigate and resolve leaks, ingress, corrosion, and mechanical failures found during testing or field operations.
Process, quality, and scale-up
- Design jigs, fixtures, and tooling to improve build consistency and cut assembly time.
- Set up quality checkpoints, inspection criteria, and documentation such as BOMs, build records, and non-conformance reports.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective action for production and field-return issues, feeding lessons back to design (DFM/DFA).
- Help plan production capacity, line layout, and inventory of critical parts like connectors, fasteners, seals, and PCBs.
Cross-functional and cross-site support
- Work closely with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to bring new HAUV designs and upgrades into production.
- Coordinate with suppliers on machined parts, PCB assemblies, and subsea components, including incoming inspection.
- Support build and process alignment between the Singapore and Johor Bahru sites, with travel as needed.
Desired Qualities
- Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, Manufacturing, or Marine Engineering, or a related field.
- 2- 5 years of experience in manufacturing, production, or assembly engineering, preferably in robotics, marine, aerospace, defence, or electromechanical products.
- Hands-on skill with wiring harnesses, crimping, soldering, and connector termination. IPC/WHMA-A-620 or IPC J-STD-001 familiarity is a strong plus.
- Understanding of sealing design, pressure housings, and waterproofing methods.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, GD&T, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Experience writing work instructions and building quality processes for low-to-medium volume production.
- Comfortable in a hands-on, fast-moving startup environment where you will build, test, and troubleshoot directly.
Good to Have
- Experience with subsea, ROV/AUV, or other marine robotics systems.
- Familiarity with 3D printing (FDM/SLA/SLS) and CNC-machined part sourcing.
- CAD proficiency (e.g. SolidWorks, Fusion 360) for fixture and tooling design.
- Exposure to lean manufacturing, FMEA, or ISO 9001 quality systems.
- Willingness to support occasional sea trials or field deployments.
Remuneration Package
- Market competitive salary
- Growth opportunities that align with your direct ability in helping the company, rather than an arbitrary corporate ladder
- ESOP / equity participation
- Healthcare support
- Special access to industry events
- Well-stocked pantry with nice snacks
- Support for skills upgrading / learning credits
