- Like to work independently, as well as collaboratively with team members in other sub-teams
- Have a positive learning mindset, and can quickly absorb knowledge to overcome challenges
- Can assess risk and make time-critical decisions/tradeoffs in imperfect scenarios
Your Role
As a Test Technician, you will be hands-on with our HAUVs every day, setting up, running, and recording the tests that prove each vehicle is ready for subsea work. You will work closely with the Test Engineer on everything from bench checks of thrusters and electronics to pressure tests and tank and sea trials. If you like working with real hardware and seeing robots perform in the water, this role is for you.
Your Job Scope
HAUV test execution
- Set up and run bench tests on HAUV subsystems, including thrusters, PCB stacks, power and battery systems, sensors, and communications.
- Run vehicle-level functional checks before trials and client deployments.
- Follow written test procedures accurately and record results, observations, and anomalies.
Pressure and leak testing
- Prepare and run pressure and leak tests on pressure hulls, enclosures, subsea connectors, and cable penetrators.
- Inspect and replace O-rings and seals, and check fastener torque before and after tests.
- Safely operate pressure test equipment and follow test safety protocols.
Tank and sea trials
- Prepare vehicles, tethers, tools, and support equipment for tank and sea trials.
- Assist with vehicle launch and recovery, and monitor vehicle status during trials.
- Carry out post-dive checks, including freshwater rinse, visual inspection for leaks or damage, and data download.
Test rigs and maintenance
- Build and maintain test rigs, fixtures, and cables, including basic harness repair, crimping, and soldering.
- Keep test equipment calibrated, organised, and in good working order.
- Help troubleshoot faults found during testing and report findings to engineers.
Requirements
- ITE Nitec or Higher Nitec, or a Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Marine Engineering, or a related field.
- 1 - 3 years of hands-on experience in testing, assembly, or maintenance of electromechanical, robotics, or marine equipment. Fresh graduates with strong hands-on skills are welcome to apply.

- Basic skills in crimping, soldering, and cable handling.
- Able to read simple wiring diagrams and mechanical drawings.
- Careful, reliable, and disciplined in following procedures and recording data.
- Willing to work in labs, test tanks, and at sea, including occasional early starts or longer field days, and able to handle moderate lifting.
Good to Have
- Experience with ROVs, AUVs, boats, or other marine or subsea equipment.
- Swimming ability, sea survival or boat handling certification.
- Basic familiarity with laptops for data logging, file transfer, or simple scripts.
- Forklift, crane, or lifting and rigging experience.
Remuneration Package
- Market competitive salary
- Growth opportunities that align with your direct ability in helping the company, rather than an arbitrary corporate ladder
- ESOP / equity participation
- Healthcare support
- Special access to industry events
- Well-stocked pantry with nice snacks
- Support for skills upgrading / learning credits
