About BeeX
BeeX is building the world's most advanced Hovering Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (HAUVs).
BeeX specialises in providing autonomous robotics solutions to safeguard underwater infrastructure in the maritime, energy and defense sectors, reducing over 90% of carbon emissions. We are pioneering Autonomous Robotics-as-a-Service (ARaaS) on a global scale, supported by decades of operational experience in harsh waters. With unprecedented efficiency, we strive to provide our customers with a one-point solution for asset integrity management -- protecting assets they value, making sure they stay safe.
Why Join Now The industries we serve need new ways to overcome their current challenges, and BeeX sees the opportunity in delivering exactly that, right now. Creating anything new is very hard, and we need outstanding people.
At BeeX, everyone is dependent; united by enthusiasm for bold innovation. Our multi-disciplinary team thrives in dynamic environments, driving transformative advancements globally. Join us to make a meaningful impact on the world!
You will enjoy this job if you:
- Want to work in fast-paced start-up environment, prioritizing growth over short-term gains
- Like to work independently, as well as collaboratively with team members in other sub-teams
- Have a positive learning mindset, and can quickly absorb knowledge to overcome challenges
- Can assess risk and make time-critical decisions/tradeoffs in imperfect scenarios
Your Role
As QA Engineer, you will own the quality system behind every HAUV we build. Our vehicles depend on hundreds of critical parts working without fault in high-pressure saltwater, including crimps, subsea connectors, fasteners, seals, machined fittings, 3D-printed parts, PCB stacks, and wiring harnesses. You will make sure the right parts come in, the right processes are followed, and every vehicle leaves the building meeting spec. As we move from prototype builds to consistent production and serve maritime, energy, and defence clients, you will build the quality foundation we scale on.
Your Job Scope
Quality management system
- Develop, implement, and maintain BeeX's quality management system, working toward ISO 9001 alignment or certification.
- Write and control quality procedures, inspection criteria, and document and revision control processes.
- Plan and run internal audits and support external and client audits, particularly for energy and defence customers.
Incoming and supplier quality
- Set up incoming inspection for critical HAUV components, including machined parts, PCBs, subsea connectors, seals, fasteners, and 3D-printed parts.
- Assess, qualify, and monitor suppliers, and manage supplier corrective action requests.
- Work with procurement to define quality requirements in purchase specifications.
In-process and final quality
- Define inspection checkpoints across HAUV assembly, including harness workmanship, crimp and solder quality, fastener torque, seal installation, and pressure hull integrity.
- Audit builds against work instructions and workmanship standards (e.g. IPC/WHMA-A-620, IPC J-STD-001).
- Own final quality sign-off and build documentation before vehicles go to acceptance testing and client deployment.
Non-conformance and continuous improvement
- Manage the non-conformance (NCR) and corrective and preventive action (CAPA) process from detection to closure.
- Lead root cause analysis using methods such as 8D, 5-Why, and fishbone, working with manufacturing, test, and design teams.
- Track quality metrics such as first-pass yield, defect rates, and field returns, and drive improvements.
- Keep traceability records for critical parts and serialised vehicle builds.
Requirements
- Degree or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Manufacturing, or Quality Engineering, or a related field.
- 1 – 5 years of experience in quality assurance or quality engineering in electromechanical, robotics, marine, aerospace, defence, or precision manufacturing.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality tools such as FMEA, SPC, 8D, and control plans.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings with GD&T, and use measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and torque tools.
- Familiarity with electronics and harness workmanship standards (IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620).
- Strong documentation habits and attention to detail.
- Confident working with suppliers and across teams to get issues closed.
Good to Have
- Experience in marine, subsea, or defence manufacturing environments.
- ISO 9001 internal auditor or lead auditor certification.
- Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or similar qualification.
- Experience with supplier development in Singapore and Malaysia.
- Familiarity with digital QMS or tracking tools.
Remuneration Package
