You will enjoy this job if you:
- Enjoy achieving deadlines and are always thinking of how to make something better
- Want to work in fast-paced start-up environment, prioritizing growth over short-term gains
- Like to work independently, as well as collaboratively with team members in other sub-teams
- Have a positive learning mindset, and can quickly absorb knowledge to overcome challenges
- Can assess risk and make time-critical decisions/tradeoffs in imperfect scenarios
Your Role
Your role is Production Supervisor. Your daily schedule will include frequent interactions with technicians and engineers, directly reporting to CTO.
Your Job Scope
- Develop and manage production plans and schedules using MRP/ERP systems and inventory management tools to meet build targets and delivery timelines.
- Drive material requirements planning — coordinate component availability, manage stock levels, and prevent production bottlenecks caused by shortages or lead-time gaps.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and technical specifications to support manufacturing, assembly, and procurement decisions.
- Manage suppliers and sub-contractors, including lead-time negotiation, logistics coordination, and cost optimisation, to strengthen supply chain reliability and resilience.
- Establish and maintain quality control processes, including incoming inspection, QC checklists, nonconformance reports (NCRs), and root cause analysis (RCA), to ensure manufacturing and assembly standards are consistently met.
- Support electromechanical assembly of subsea/marine robotics hardware — AUVs, thrusters, pressure housings, subsea connectors — and contribute to design-for-manufacturability and design-for-assembly improvements.
- Apply lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles (5S, Kaizen) to improve workflow efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance throughput.
- Develop and maintain production tracking systems and reporting using Excel, ClickUp, or similar project management tools to provide visibility on build status, inventory, and supplier performance.
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety and health standards, including the WSH Act, and conduct risk assessments for manufacturing and assembly activities.
- Coordinate and communicate across design engineering, production technicians, procurement, and management to align production priorities and resolve issues promptly.
Desired Qualities
- Diploma or B.Eng degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
- 1–3 years of relevant experience in manufacturing engineering, production planning, supply chain, or operations; experience with marine, subsea, or robotics hardware is a strong plus.
- Hands-on familiarity with MRP/ERP systems and inventory management for production planning and material control.
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical specifications.
- Working knowledge of quality control methods and documentation (inspection, QC checklists, NCRs, RCA).
- Familiarity with electromechanical assembly and subsea/marine robotics hardware.
- Experience in supplier and sub-contractor management — lead time, logistics, and cost optimisation.
- Proficiency in Excel and production tracking/project management tools such as ClickUp.
- Understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles (5S, Kaizen).
- Knowledge of WSH Act compliance and risk assessment.
- Strong coordination and communication skills across engineering, production, and management.
- Self-driven, organised, and dependable; takes ownership of production and supply chain issues through to resolution.
Remuneration Package
- Market competitive salary
- Growth opportunities that align with your direct ability in helping the company, rather than an arbitrary corporate ladder
- Healthcare support
- Special access to industry events
- Well-stocked pantry with nice snacks
- Support for skills upgrading / learning credits
