The posting

ByteDance's Infrastructure team operates a global backbone network and hyper-scale data center footprint that powers products used by billions of users. As AI workloads and global content traffic continue to surge, we are rapidly expanding our overseas Points of Presence (POP) and edge data center nodes. The Overseas Network Resource & Commerce team owns the end-to-end commercial lifecycle of these nodes — from market entry strategy to site acquisition, procurement, contracting, and delivery support.

We are looking for an experienced commercial professional to lead POP node / data center site selection and commercial management for ByteDance's overseas backbone network. In this role, you will independently identify, evaluate, negotiate, and secure optimal colocation and data center sites across key international markets, driving deals from pipeline to execution. You will work closely with engineering, capacity planning, legal, finance, and operations stakeholders to enable the global growth of our network infrastructure.

Responsibilities - Lead the procurement and partnership development of Global Transmission network resources for overseas backbone and local networks, including but not limited to international submarine cable capacity, local fiber-optic cable/fiber networks, local loops and other network resources. - Lead the acquisition and business support of overseas optical transport network resources. Manage feasibility studies, commercial communications and negotiations, solution evaluation, contract negotiations, and the implementation of standardized procurement and partnership processes with telecommunications carriers, network service providers, and relevant organizations. - Collect, organize, analyze commercial intelligence related to externally sourced optical transport network resources. Based on regional market trends, the supplier landscape, cost structures, and business development needs, support the development and execution of medium- and long-term regional network resource procurement strategies. - Manage, evaluate, and continuously improve supplier performance. Build and maintain long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships with telecommunications carriers and relevant organizations. - Secure long-term, stable, and high-quality overseas network resources through innovative commercial structures and partnership models while optimizing cost efficiency. Improve resource acquisition efficiency, cost competitiveness, business continuity and assurance, and delivery timeliness.

Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree or above in telecommunications, computer science, engineering, business administration, economics, or a related discipline. - At least 3 years of experience in the OTT, cloud computing, telecommunications, or related communications industries. Familiarity with overseas network resource markets, carrier ecosystems, and B2B business models. - Solid understanding of B2B services and network architectures offered by overseas carriers. Proven experience working directly with overseas carriers on sales, solution development, business development, or commercial partnerships, including relevant project experience and hands-on execution.

Preferred Qualifications: - Overseas work experience in a related field is preferred. - Strong commercial communication, negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, with a strong sense of ownership and a results-oriented mindset. Demonstrated ability to drive issue resolution and deliver results in complex business environments. - Ability to secure high-quality and cost-effective resources through diverse commercial arrangements. Capable of flexibly designing partnership models, procurement solutions, and resource acquisition strategies based on business requirements, and driving their implementation. - Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with experience working across cultures and time zones.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
