Location

Note

Candidates must have an active Michigan Bar license in good standing and at least 1 year of civil litigation defense experience. We welcome motivated associates looking to expand their litigation experience and grow professionally.

Job Description

  • Represent and defend clients in civil litigation matters in state and federal courts.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other litigation documents.
  • Conduct legal research and develop effective defense strategies.
  • Assist with depositions, hearings, court appearances, and trial preparation.
  • Manage assigned cases and collaborate with senior attorneys on complex litigation matters.
  • Communicate with clients, evaluate case developments, and contribute to successful outcomes.
  • Build valuable litigation experience while taking on increasing responsibility.

Qualifications

  • Active Michigan Bar license in good standing.
  • 1+ years of civil litigation defense experience.
  • Experience with litigation procedures, discovery, pleadings, and motion practice.
  • Strong legal research, writing, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage deadlines, stay organized, and work collaboratively.
  • Federal court litigation or complex civil litigation defense experience preferred.
  • Healthcare litigation, medical malpractice defense, or federal civil rights defense experience is a plus.
  • Comfortable working in a billable-hours environment.
